Our History
Early Days
Lopez Brothers began operating in 1929 when brothers, Felix and Jack Lopez purchased their first truck to pick up fruit and vegetables from the markets for the family's shop in Gladesville, Sydney. Further work opportunities arose to use their new truck and a transport business had begun.
Expanding Opportunities
Throughout the 1930's Lopez Brothers began to grow and a number of trucks were added to the fleet. Further work opportunities came with the development of the AGL site across the Parramatta River at Mortlake. This association with AGL was to last for over 50 years - providing vehicles and equipment for many of their developments.
In the 1950's Jack bought his first prime movers - Diamond T's and Internationals. These purchases marked a new direction for the company - interstate and highway work up and down the Eastern seaboard.
The company continued to operate from it's Gladesville depot until 1998 when the company relocated to its current location in Enfield. With a site four times as large as the old depot and with shed and hardstand areas it enabled the company to develop further into warehousing and container transport and handling.
Today the company is run by Jack's son Phil and his wife Ann. Lopez Brothers still hold the values that has seen the company grow for the past 90 years - a quality service that aims to exceed the expectations of their customers. A philosophy that sees the company continuing to look forward into its 10th decade.
